Concept

Red Island is an art project. The playful occupation of an unfamiliar environment will enhance and challenge one’s abilities to negotiate the use of new spaces.

The structure is a minimally invasive intervention in the natural environment. The ephemeral lightness of the coral fans, gently swaying in the current, are the biomorphological blueprint in form and function.

The ocean is home to some of the most fascinating and unique organisms on the planet, each adapted to thrive in their specific environment. Many sea creatures spend their lives hidden in the depths of the ocean, far from human eyes. These deep-sea dwellers often come to our attention only in rare and extraordinary circumstances.

From a distance, the red island looks like a sea creature. Its jagged edges, reminiscent of the back of a mythical beast, rising from the sea.

The island is full of secrets.

One seems to be on the verge of a discovery that could change everything known about life on Earth.

Architecture

A thin red skin stretches over the island formed by sharp-edged coral stones, making it possible to enter through the extensive network.
